Global Partners and World Hope International Working Together To aid Victims in Asia
As they do in thirty countries of the world, Global Partners—the world missions arm of The Wesleyan Church—and World Hope International—a compassionate ministries partner of the Church—are working together to aid hurting and displaced people in Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Resources collected through World Hope International ( www.worldhope.org) are being distributed by Global Partners missionaries and Wesleyan leaders in the affected areas to victims of the earthquake and tsunamis that have resulted in over 70,000 deaths. General Director of Global Partners Dr. Don Bray says that Wesleyans are “working with World Hope International in the name of Jesus.” ( www.wesleyan.org/gp)
World Hope International Executive Director Jo Anne Lyon also received word from a contact in Thailand, saying, “The Kingdom of Thailand is reeling from this disaster and like many affected nations, having a hard time dealing with the aftermath. We learned today that the Thai government is calling all religions in the country to pray on December 30, at 7:00 p.m. local time.” |
